About the programme

The award recognises sustained, practical contributions to protecting saigas — usually by people working in difficult conditions with limited resources.

Nominations come from colleagues, partner organisations and communities, and are reviewed by a panel drawn from across the range.

How to apply

Applications are made through a short online form. We ask for a clear description of the work, a simple budget and one referee — nothing longer than is genuinely needed.

Before you apply

Can I nominate myself?: No. The award is decided on nominations from colleagues, partner organisations or the communities a person works with.
Can a whole team be nominated?: Yes. Much of this work is done by patrol teams rather than individuals, and teams are regularly nominated and recognised.
How long should a nomination be?: A page is plenty. What the panel needs is a clear account of what the person or team actually did, and over what period.
Does the recipient need to travel to receive it?: No. Where travel is difficult the award is presented locally by a partner organisation, and nothing is conditional on attending.
